2012 Food Relief - Thank you!

On the 29th of March 2012, a tropical depression situated itself over the Western side of Fiji's largest island, Viti Levu. Over the next few days the whole Western side of the island was severely flooded, causing extensive damage and claiming the lives of five people. Around 13,000 individuals were evacuated from their homes and forced to seek refuge in shelters. Thousands of tourists were left stranded as no flights were entering or leaving Fiji.

As the rain stopped and the rivers receded the extent of the damage became clear. People were without food or water, towns had emptied, bridges were washed away, and people had no homes to return to. Brett Whittaker has partnered with Operation Foundation in bringing food, water, clothes, and simple supplies to people who need it. A momentum began and people moved to action. We've been delivering food to schools, villages, families, and settlements.
